Literary
The Literary Club, one of the pioneer clubs of the school hones, develops and fine tunes the latent skills of the students. The writing, speaking and debating skills are thus almost completely developed by the time they reach Class XII.
Since competition is the mother of training and growth, the students compete with each other to win a place in the top slot. The students represent their houses or groups to bring points and the final trophy for their house.
Essay writing, Elocution and Debates are conducted in English, Telugu and Hindi. After a preliminary round the selected students reach the finals. At the finals the students are judged by external judges. For each event the three judges give their marks for the students based on their content, style, accuracy and presentation. The total of the three judges then decides the winner of the event. Throughout the whole procedure, care is taken to ensure that the events are conducted in a fair and just manner, so that the atmosphere of healthy competition is retained at all times, apart from imbibing the policy of fairness and fairplay in the students.
A Coordinator for the club is appointed at the beginning of each academic year. He or she is assisted by the Secretary and Asst.Secretaries in the smooth conduct of the events.
Cultural
Art and culture are the spirit and essence of humanity. They reach out to the aesthetic with an appeal to the mind and a tug at the heart. An unbiased appreciation of beauty, divinity and allure enables perception of talents and gifts. The Cultural club hones the inherent aptitude of the students to impeccability and puts them on the road to achievement, a road where ‘multitasking’ and ‘multifaceted personality’ are prominent sign boards. The following events are conducted and the winners are awarded -Solo Singing: Light and Western, Classical, Western and Folk Dance, Drawing and Painting , Rangoli, Mimicry, Mono-Action, Mehendi , Pot Painting ,Group Dance, Group Singing, Skit, Instrumental Music.
Sports Games
For most children ‘going to school’ is a historic milestone in their lives. It is a place that plays one of the most important roles in their physical, mental and emotional development. Schools are settings where children learn, character is moulded, where values are inculcated and where the future citizens of the world are groomed to face life’s challenges.
Built into this educational edifice we have a well laid out infrastructure for games and sports with all the available place put to us.
Intramural Competitions provide an opportunity for the children to exhibit their talents and form a basis to pickout the talented children. In the month of June all the children of the school are divided into four houses: Bose, Nehru, Patel and Tagore respectively. In July we have the colourful Investiture Ceremony in which the School Cabinet take the oath and accepts the responsibility to lead the student community through various activities during the academic year.
Intramural Competitions on knock-out basis are conducted in major games of Volleyball, Basketball, Football and Cricket for the three divisions of boys and girls. The physical education department has scheduled around a total number of 40 games class-wise and more than 100 athletic events division-wise, as a part of intramurals to bring out the talents of the four houses.
